TOKYO - Aiwa Co., Ltd. has introduced the AM-R10 portable Mini Disc (MD) player
equipped with a built-in three-band (TV/FM/AM) tuner, which allows listeners to enjoy
their favorite radio and TV programs. Aiwa is aiming to expand the market for MD players
from young people to executives and senior citizens.
The portable AM-R10 is simple to use, thanks to an illuminated LCD remote control and a
large shuttle dial on the main unit. The remote control's LCD panel makes it easy to find
MD disc names, program names, track numbers, and frequency ranges, and monitor operation
at a glance. The remote is backlit for easy operation in any light conditions. The shuttle
dial on the main unit allows the listener to quickly skip to a desired MD program or
select a radio station.
The AM-R10 also features an optional monaural playback mode and double-speed playback.
The rechargeable batteries (charger included) provide up to seven hours of operation on a
single charge.
