TOKYO - Aiwa Co., Ltd. has introduced the stylish CSD-MD5 MD-CD system featuring a control panel called the "Edit Wing" that folds out electrically to reveal the controls for easy MD operation.

The CSD-MD5 has MD operation keys and a "Jog Dial" on the control panel, which opens and closes electrically. And it's easy to record your own customized MDs, thanks to functions like synchronized recording of one track, all tracks, or 16 selected tracks. The CSD-MD5 also makes it simple to record a favorite song from a CD. When you hear the song you like, just touch the synchrorec button, and the CSD-MD5 automatically reverses to the start of that track and begins recording it onto an MD.

The CSD-MD5 also features a robust 16-watt audio output, virtual stereo QSOUND for natural stereophonic surround effects, and music genre position switch (rock, pop, jazz). The CSD-MD5 is a stylish MD-CD system that offers easy operation and excellent sound quality.

The jog dial and the MD editing keys are located on a panel that opens and closes electrically. With the panel open, it's easy to operate the MD player/recorder and edit your own MDs, almost like playing a video game. Closing the panel enhances the sleek, stylish lines of the CSD-MD5.

* Multi jog dial for easy inputting of MD titles
"Multi jog dial" on the operation panel allows inputting of MD titles using upper- and lowercase letters, kana characters, numbers and symbols - up to 50 characters per title, and searching of MD/CD titles.
* Three-way timer can be set with the jog dial for timed recording, playback or sleep functions. It's simple to set the CSD-MD5 to record a favorite music or language program, or use it as an alarm clock.
* Virtual stereo QSOUND reproduces natural stereophonic surround effects.
