TOKYO - Aiwa Co., Ltd. has introduced the XR-MD510 MD mini component
system, which also features a CD player, cassette tape deck, and tuner.
The entire MD system, including the speakers and the main unit
integrating the CD player, cassette deck, and tuner, measures just
48.5cm wide, so it's easy to set up in even the smallest room.
The XR-MD510 also features a "magical change" operating
display that rotates to show the listener's choice of three different
panels. What's more, speaker grilles are available in two colors to
complement any interior decor.
The XR-MD510 features a high-powered 60W amplifier, virtual stereo
QSURROUND to create natural stereophonic surround effects, and a BBE
sound processing system for precise mid- and high-range sound. It is a
compact unit, yet offers big, high-quality sound.

* Magical change display rotates to show three different panels, with a
touch sensor.
By touching the sensor on the operation panel, listeners can choose
between three displays - a basic operational panel; an acrylic panel;
and an MD editing panel. It is a simple design, but a treat for
listeners.
* Two speaker grille colors - mist blue and mist orange - are available,
to match the listener's interior decor
* MD, CD, and cassette deck are integrated in one compact unit.
* Robust 60W high-power amplifier reproduces dynamic sound.
* Virtual stereo QSURROUND offers natural stereophonic surround effects.
* BBE sound processing system ensures precise mid- and high-range.
* T-Bass ensures powerful low-range sound reproduction.
* Sampling rate converter for digital recording from BS/CS digital
broadcasts and DAT, to MD. The sampling rate converter automatically
converts 32kHz/48kHz sampling frequencies to 44.1kHz. This allows
high-quality digital MD recording from external equipment such as BS/CS
digital tuners and DAT, in addition to CDs.

The energy-efficient XR-MD510 consumes just 1W when plugged in and on
standby mode with the power switch off.
