TOKYO - Aiwa CO., LTD. has introduced the XR-MD200, a 2-piece MD hi-fi component system with separate 14.4cm-wide cabinets for the CD/MD deck and tuner/amplifier. The system, including speakers, measures only 38.4cm wide, so it can fit anywhere, even on a desktop.

The XR-MD200 also adds a whole new visual dimension to listeners' musical experience, with an aluminum panel on the main units, rich dark green speaker grilles, and remote control unit with a transparent cover. The design also creates a luxurious image that enhances the decor of any room.

The XR-MD200 features a powerful 40W audio output, virtual stereo QSURROUND to ensure natural stereophonic surround effects, a BBE sound processing system for precise mid- and high-range reproduction, and luxurious wood cabinet speakers that reproduce natural, high-quality sound. There's also a built-in sampling rate converter for recording digital signals directly from BS/CS broadcasts and DAT to MD.
This compact, sophisticated, great-sounding system is aimed mainly at young women, as well as customers considering the purchase of MD/CD radio cassette recorder units.

  The sampling rate converter automatically converts 32kHz/48kHz sampling frequencies to
  44.1kHz. This allows high-quality digital MD recording from external equipment such as BS/CS
  digital tuners and DAT, in addition to CDs.
*Energy-saving design
  The energy-efficient XR-MD200 consumes just 2.5W when plugged in and on standby mode
  with the power switch off.

*Multi-function MD deck offers precise recording and editing.
