TOKYO - Aiwa Co., Ltd. has introduced the AM-F80, a portable mini disc (MD) recorder - which is designed to make recording and editing functions more convenient. AM-F80 features inputting MD titles while recording, a one-point stereo microphone(supplied), extended-time recording mode and synchro recording function from either digital or analog sources.

What's more, AM-F80 features, the main unit's LCD display and remote control unit are backlit, that makes operation a snap even in the dark, song title search makes it easy to find a favorite song by viewing the LCD panel, even during MD playback, double-speed playback that allows users to quickly review recordings.

The AM-F80 is very useful portable MD recorder for recording meetings and lectures as well as music.

Main Features
* Inputting MD titles is available while recording
* One-point stereo microphone, extended-time recording mode, and double-speed playback function simplify recording and playback of business meetings, lectures, and other events.
The one-point stereo microphone allows instant recording. The extended recording mode allows continuous monaural recording of up to 160 minutes on a 80-minute disc. The double-speed playback function does not affect the pitch of the sound, but makes it much faster -- half of the actual recording time -- to review recorded material.
* Synchro recording function from either digital or analog sources
When recording from a digital source, MD recording automatically starts or stops in synch with the connected device. Synchronized recording is also possible with some analog sources, depending on the signal level.
* Large LCD display and illuminated keys on main unit
The AM-F80's backlit operation keys and LCD panel make it simple to operate the unit in the dark or in a car.
* Backlit LCD remote control unit displays up to 10 characters
The LCD display on the remote control unit shows the disc name, song title, track number, and operating conditions. Backlighting makes it easy to operate the AM-F80 in any light.
* Song title search makes it easy to find a favorite song by viewing the LCD panel, even during MD playback.
* 40-second sound skip prevention memory offers excellent resistance to shock and vibration.
* Alarm function
* Large jog dial ensures easy operability
Turn the large jog dial on the main unit to input and store kana or alphanumeric characters for disc titles and song titles up to 50 characters long.
* Sampling rate converter allows recording of BS/CS digital broadcasts and DAT
The AM-F80 automatically converts 32kHz/48kHz sampling radio frequencies to 44.1kHz, allowing high-quality digital recording from external sources such as BS/CS digital tuners and DAT or CD players.
* Wide range of editing functions
The AM-F80's editing functions - combine, divide, move, and erase - make the most of the MD format's unique characteristics.
* Time mark function
This automatically marks a recording every five minutes, so it's easy to scan a recording of a long meeting or lecture to find key passages.
* Date function can store and display the year, month, and date of a recording.
* 25-track program play/repeat (programmable for one track or all tracks/random playback)
* Aiwa's unique Dynamic Super Linear Bass (DSL)
