I received my new Sony MZ-G750DPC only yesterday
and I already feel like I have gone to MiniDisc
Heaven. I always thought that having an AM/FM
radio built into a portible MD unit would be a
great idea, and Sony was finally the first to
make it happen! The radio, together with a MD
unit that is durable, rich in features and ready
to rock your socks off is what the 750 is all
about.
I owned the Sony recorder/player model 70 before
purchasing my 750. The 70 is a great unit, but it
does have some attributes that have always
troubled me. The 70 is too noisy for my liking.
Also, when I used the 70 during jogging, it would
skip fairly often. Also, the battery life was on
the short side desirable. In comes the 750...
The 750 is a much quieter unit as it reads and
writes to the MD. I have not yet been able to
make the 750 skip, and I have worn it during very
heavy running and working out. The battery keeps
going til the cows come home. And...the unit
sounds great.
The 750DPC comes with some fairly nice behind the
ear headphones. The radio, which is built into
the remote, works very well. The Remote is very
easy to use - I can already use most of the
remote features by just feeling the buttons.
The 750 unit even comes with a coupon to order a
FREE armband case from Sony - pretty nice huh?
I purchased my unit from www.Videodirect.com. I
think they have the best price around for the
unit - $239 +s/h. I found their service and
support was good.
So, as you might have guessed, I am very pleased
with my Sony 750. I give the unit a "10"
